Time For Change
St Mary Bourne Village Shop is ready for the next phase in its existence. We are excited to announce that plans are underway to enhance our much-loved village shop, by creating a wonderful new meeting space for all the community. Plans have been approved for a new extension to include a wonderful Café with homemade cakes, delicious coffee, hot drinks and light snacks and to provide an Eco Shop to run alongside the existing convenience store. The shop opened just over 20 years ago, with huge support from the parish and local people, and is still going strong, but is now bursting at the seams. The time is right, to continue to grow the shop, and give it a new lease of life for the next 20 years. The new Shop and Café will be called The Boundary and we hope to create an amazing community space for everyone. We do hope you’ll join us on our journey…. it’s going to be one heck of a ride!! We look forward to welcoming you to The Boundary when it opens in Autumn/Winter 2022.

The Village Shop as you know it!
The shop was opened on 3rd September 2001 with the help and support of the Parish and local residents.
St Mary Bourne Village Shop is a key part of the community and over the last few years has grown and continues to develop into a thriving asset that benefits all the local residents.

The New Vision for The Village Shop!
20 years on, and a new extension with a cafe, deli and eco-refillable shop is underway.
The next phase of the shop will strengthen the sense of community, offering a wonderful relaxed environment for all to enjoy. The creation of a larger shop will enable us to provide a more extensive range of products, alongside a cafe, serving a breakfast menu, light lunches and delicious cakes. It will provide the village with a sense of local destination, and “popping to the shop” will take on a new meaning.
The Village Shop Now!
We are open seven days a week and offer services of the Post Office and Dry Cleaning. Fresh fruit and vegetables are delivered every Monday, Wednesday and Friday and fresh milk and cream arrives daily. We also sell newspapers and magazines as well as an extensive range of groceries including beer, wine and spirits; chilled and frozen food; fresh bread and freshly baked cakes, hot food to go, soft drinks, ice creams, teas and freshly ground coffee.
SMB Shop is a proud member of Hampshire Fare and stocks a wide range of local food from fantastic producers. These include Greenfield Pork; Austwicks Pies and Quiches; Oaktrack Smallholding Lamb and Beef; Beckys Beezz Honey; Summerdown Mint Tea and Chocolates; Wessex Mill Flour; River Test Distillery Gin;The Little Bakery Bread; Beechwood Farm Eggs; Bourne Valley Pick Your Own Fruit and Veg and Bee Friendly Plants.
The shop is staffed by four members of the village and has a happy band of volunteers making it a vibrant and fun place to shop. Come and see us…. you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
