The Village Hall

From 1989 to 1993, nearly everyone in the parish of St Mary Bourne was involved in building a new village hall. When the new St Mary Bourne Village Centre opened in April 1993, £300.000 had been raised (and spent without a penny owing) through a tremendous community effort and generous grants, and understandably people still feel proud of that achievement.

Today the Village Centre is a successfully managed village asset with healthy finances, run by a committee of trustees and volunteers within the framework of a new constitution devised by the Charity Commissioners.
